  • You're correct to look at the effect on profit margin and not just gross revenue, but still, Wal-mart could make plenty of money on 2.6% profit margins instead of 3.4% margins. But the real point is that, if you can hire all the people you need at $10/hour, you have no reason to pay $12/hour.
